After weeks of speculations and teasers, Samsung's much-awaited Galaxy Note9 will be launched in New York City on Thursday, August 9.

The upcoming Galaxy Note9 will come with huge upgrades particularly in terms of internal hardware and S Pen functionalities, according to reports. To provide a better perspective, we have listed key features that are most likely to make the cut in the Galaxy Note8 successor.

Build quality, design and display:

Like the predecessor, the Galaxy Note9 is expected to come with a good blend of metal and glass on top to offer the glossy premier exterior look. We believe Samsung might incorporate Corning's latest Gorilla Glass 6 series, which is said to resist the breaking of the smartphone's screen.

The screen will not break almost 62 percent of the time when the phone is dropped on a floor. It is 51 percent scratch resistant and has an improved 49 percent readability on the smartphone screen in the sunlight.

As far as the design is concerned, the company will translocate the fingerprint scanner below the camera module similar to the Galaxy S9. In the Galaxy Note8, the biometric sensor is placed beside the camera. This caused the users to accidentally smudge the camera lens. Meanwhile, expect no such issues like these in the upcoming model.

In terms of display, Samsung is expected to keep trim bezels mostly in the top and the bottom to increase the screen real estate of the Galaxy Note9. Rest assured, it is expected to have more than 85 percent screen-to-body ratio and comes with a bigger 6.4-inch Quad WHD super AMOLED screen with 18.5:9 aspect ratio and a better reading ability.

Processor:

Like the previous iterations, the Galaxy Note9, depending on the region of sale, will be deployed with different chipsets. The Galaxy Note9 model bound for Europe and Asian markets, including India, will house Samsung's in-house built Exynos 9820 Octa-core CPU chipsets.

The company will pack the Galaxy Note9 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core for US, China and other nations.

RAM + Storage capacity:

For the first time, Samsung is expected to offer the base model with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The official Samsung teaser also hinted at the increase of storage space in the new flagship phablet.

There are also plans to launch a top-end Galaxy Note9 model with 8 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

Battery:

The Galaxy Note9 will come with a big bump in the battery, most probably 4,000mAh cell, 700mAh (21 percent) more than the Galaxy Note8 (3,300mAh). It is also expected to boast fast charging and a wireless charging capability.

Camera:

It is expected to come with dual-camera along with a variable aperture (F1.5 to F2.5) on the back side. While on the front side, the phone is equipped with an 8 MP front snapper and a wide-angle lens.

S Pen:

Samsung is expected to incorporate Bluetooth-enabled S Pen to allow the user to control music and volume without having to open the smartphone. It is also expected to have many functionalities in addition to standard painting and note-taking capabilities.
