Samsung is reportedly planning to release the Galaxy Note7 in India in the last week of October.
The Samsung phablet was supposed to hit stores in September 2, but due to the reports of the device catching fire, the company deferred the launch indefinitely. Now, Samsung is readying to release the flagship phablet on October 28, just two days ahead of the Diwali festival, reported The Economic Times, citing the company insiders.
It has also come to light that the Galaxy Note7 units sold in India are assembled locally and the device display will show green battery icon to indicate the cell is safe.
In addition to that, Samsung has marked a black square on the packaging box to assure buyers that the Galaxy Note7, they have is safe to use.

In order to bring awareness, Samsung has reportedly earmarked a substantial amount of cash to buy ad space on print and online media sites.
As a goodwill gesture, the company is also giving away gifts worth over Rs.10,000 to consumers, who pre-ordered the device in India.
That said, Samsung will have a tough time selling the device, considering the fact that rival Apple has commenced the sale of iPhone 7 series in India. Official resellers are offering Rs. 10,000 discount for select buyers having partner bank credit/debit cards.
