Samsung has announced that the company will resume the sale of Galaxy Note7 in Europe next month.
Samsung commenced the global recall of Galaxy Note7 on September 2 following reports of the device catching fire caused by defective battery. Since then, as a precautionary measure, many national airline regulatory bodies have banned the usage of Samsung 2016 phablet series on the flight.
Now, the company has revealed that the 57 percent of the users in Europe have participated in its exchange programme, wherein 90 percent chose the new Note7 and another 3 percent exchanged it with another Samsung device. If things go as planned, Samsung plans to restart the sale in Europe on October 28.
The company is also witnessing similar encouraging signs from Samsung patrons, who have chosen to stick to the new Galaxy Note7 in the US, South Korea, Singapore and other developed markets.
"We are humbled by our customers' loyalty to the Galaxy Note7 device. This is why we want them to take advantage of their local replacement program so that they can continue to feel confident and excited every time they reach for their Galaxy Note7 device," DJ Koh, president of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics., said in a statement.
When will Samsung Galaxy Note7 come to India?
The Galaxy Note7 was supposed to hit stores in India on September 2. But due to the battery issues, the launch was deferred indefinitely.
Now, a new report has emerged that Samsung will release the new Galaxy Note7 on October 7 and has set aside a huge amount of money for marketing, as the very same day rival Apple too is slated to launch iPhone 7 in the country.
