More details of the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 8 keep surfacing as its release date nears. The codename of the device has now been leaked, suggesting the launch is imminent.
There are conflicting reports on the release date of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. A section of media has claimed the South Korean technology giant might unveil its next-generation device in August before releasing it in the market in September like the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. It has now emerged that the handset will be launched at the upcoming consumer electronics fair IFA 2017 in Berlin which is scheduled for September 1 to September 6.

Interestingly, popular leakster Evan Blass aka @evleaks has claimed in a tweet that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is codenamed "Gr3at" and not "Great" as reported earlier. Blass' leaks are usually vindicated.
Apparently the codename for the Galaxy Note8 is not "Great" but...wait for it..."Samsung Gr3at."

Galaxy Note 8 will purportedly sport a 6.3-inch QHD Infinity display with 2,960×1,440 pixels resolution, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and run Android 7.1 Nougat os. It is also expected to feature a 12MP wide-angle camera and 13MP telephoto lens, an autofocus front-snapper, an iris scanner, and an AI-powered digital voice assistant Bixby.
Meanwhile, News.Naver quoted a Samsung Electronics official saying the company has decided not to put an in-screen fingerprint reader in Note 8 due to technical limitations.
