The much-hyped Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is all set for release and gadget lovers will probably come to know what is in store in a few hours' time. But there is one big reason why fans could be left disappointed when it is unveiled. The device may come sans one feature that fans can't think of without.
Samsung hasn't confirmed the release date of its Galaxy Note 5 but has sent out press invites to its "Unpacked 2015" scheduled for 13 August, so it is almost certain that it will be unveiled along with the Galaxy S6 Edge + at the event. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to come with several feature upgrades over the Galaxy Note 4, which prospective buyers will be happy about, but users of Galaxy Note devices, who are looking forward for an upgrade, could be left disappointed for one big reason – microSD card slot.
It is reported that the upcoming Note device will have a glass back and so, will have to do away with microSD card slot and removable battery.
A Reddit user by the name joelrtaveras has also claimed to have met a Samsung representative who told him that the Galaxy Note 5 will not have microSD card slot and the base model will have 32 GB internal memory.
Non-removable battery may not disappoint Samsung fans that much as the new device is expected to come with a 4100mAh battery compared to 3220 mAh battery seen in the Note 4, but removal of microSD card slot will surely upset many, if not all.
Samsung fans, especially current users of the Galaxy Note devices, are so used to expandable memory that they may feel something amiss without it. The fact is many may use Samsung Galaxy Note 5 for heavier tasks because of its big screen and this needs more memory. So, doing away with expandable storage feature will be a big damper for many.
According to reports that have appeared so far, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is expected to have a 32/64 GB internal memory and 4 GB RAM compared to 32 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.
Under the hood, it is expected to have Exynos 7420 SoC processor, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, 16 MP main camera and 5 MP secondary snapper, and a 4100mAh battery.
The device is also expected to sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixels (515 ppi pixel density) and ejectable S-pen.
