Sprint has come up with a special promo offer for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 devices in the US ahead of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge launch.
The South Korean electronics giant is expected to unveil the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016) in Barcelona, Spain. The company's "Unpacked" event is scheduled to take place on 21 February.
The carrier's promo offers $200 off on purchase of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5 devices with a condition that buyers trade in a working smartphone, reported SamMobile citing Sprint. It added that the 32GB Galaxy S6 costs $9.75 per month and the Galaxy Note 5 costs $16.67 per month when the offer is applied.
The offer runs through March 3, 2016.
It appears Sprint is trying clear the existing stock of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5 with launch of the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge drawing close. The release date of the upcoming flagship devices is expected to fall in March after its announcement in February.
The Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 edge are expected to share similar features except for its screen size and battery, with the former reportedly sporting a 5.1-inch QHD display with 2,560x1,440 pixels and a 3,000mAh battery, while the latter may have a 5.5-inch screen and a 3,500mAh battery.
It is reported that both devices will be powered by either an Exynos 8890 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (depending on region) and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is also expected to have 64GB inbuilt memory, 4GB RAM, a 12MP main camera and a 5MP front-snapper.
