The South Korean company is reportedly planning to release the new flagship phablets soon in India.
Since the launch of the very first Galaxy Note series in 2011, Samsung has been launching devices at IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin) in September. But this year, the company advanced the launch event to 13 August to unveil the new Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+.
During the Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event at New York City, Samsung had confirmed that both the devices would hit stores in the US and Canada on 21 August, but it refrained from revealing the release details for other regions.
Now, The Economic Times (Tech), citing Samsung's senior executive Shoneel Kolhatkar, has claimed that Galaxy S6 Edge+ will first be launched in India later this month and Galaxy Note 5 will be made available in September.
It has been learnt that Samsung, in order to get a head start over Apple's soon-to-be-launched iPhone 6S (& 6S Plus) series, has decided to release its flagship devices in the global markets by late August or early September.
Apple iPhone 6S series phones are expected to be unveiled in the second week of September and hit stores in the following week.
Kolhatkar declined to reveal details with regard to the cost of the devices. The company is expected to reveal the price details during a local launch event, later this month. Stay tuned for more updates.
