The final countdown for the release of Samsung's much-awaited flagship device, Galaxy Note 4 has begun with the unveiling event set to take place in a couple of week's time. More features of the next-generation phablet has hit online ahead of its launch in September.
Samsung Electronics has announced that its Unpacked event will be held in Berlin, Beijing and New York City simultaneously on 3 September. The company has not revealed the release date but it is expected a couple of weeks after the unveiling event.
The new device is expected to come with several features superior to that of its predecessor, Galaxy Note 3. Here are features of Galaxy Note 4 we know so far:
Processor: Samsung will launch two models of Galaxy Note 4, one to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, and the other with Exynos 5433 8 Core processor, according to AnTuTu benchmark listings.
Operating System: Android 4.4.3 KitKat
Display: 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 (515 ppi pixels density) Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen
Design: Samsung will release two models of Galaxy Note 4 - one with a curved OLED display and the other with a flat OLED display, according to the Korea Times. Executive Vice President of Samsung's mobile business, Lee Younghee told Wall Street Journal that the company is thinking of a flexible display.
Camera: 16MP or 12MP camera. AnTuTu benchmark listings claimed that the device may have a 16MP camera, but G4Games (via ETNews) reported that camera pixel of the new device might be reduced to 12MP but with OIS feature.
Memory: It is reported that the device will come with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, which is seen in Galaxy Note 3. However, Indonesian retailer Erafone (snapshot obtained by Droid Life) claimed that it will come in 16/32/64GB variants with 4GB RAM and microSD upto 128GB.
S-Pen Stylus: A patent application of Samsung obtained by Galaxy Club hinted that S-Pen Stylus will be powered by ultrasound technology. It will also come with updated gestures and air command.
Connectivity: According to Erafone, Galaxy Note 4 will have 4G LTE radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, EDR, and LE.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Availability:
Samsung Electronics may ship Galaxy Note 4 to the US upon release through major wireless carriers like AT&T, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. The company is also reportedly planning to make a big entry into Chinese market with the upcoming device.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Price:
The South Korean electronics giant hasn't revealed the price of Galaxy Note 4 but a report by TechTimes has claimed that the device may come with a price tag of $813, and a little cheaper with a new 2-year contract.
