With less than a month left before Samsung's Unpacked event kicks off, specifications of the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 phablet have been leaked online.
Technology website Phone Arena citing a source who claimed to have seen the engineering model of Galaxy Note 3 has confirmed that the third generation Samsung phablet would feature a high-capacity 3450 mAh battery, a big upgrade from its predecessors which came with a 2500mAh battery (Galaxy Note) and a 3100mAh (Galaxy Note 2) cell.
If the report turns out true, then Galaxy Note 3's long battery life will have an edge over Samsung's rivals in the market. LG's recently released G2 device boasts of a 3000 mAh battery, whereas upcoming smartphones like HTC One Max (T6) and Sony Xperia i1 aka Honami are rumoured to pack 3,200mAh and 3,000 mAh cells, respectively.
Apart from the battery feature, Galaxy Note 3 is said to sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Full HD screen and run on the latest Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS with 3GB RAM for smooth operation.
It is rumoured to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core processor with maximum CPU speed of 2.3GHz and Adreno 330 graphics engine for smooth functioning while playing power-intensive games, full HD video playback and support for LTE Advanced network connectivity.
Other important specifications include a 13.0-megapixel camera having Xeon flash support and full HD video recording capability. The upcoming third generation Galaxy Note phablet is also said come with stylus 'S Pen' functionality as seen in its predecessors.
Word on the street is that Samsung is contemplating to launch the second-variant of Galaxy Note 3 model featuring the company's in-house built Exynos 5420 Octa-core as well. This speculation can't be ruled out easily as Samsung had employed similar tactic while launching Galaxy S4 in March earlier this year. The company had released its flagship smartphone with two variants in different markets across the globe.
The South Korean electronics major has already announced that the company would host the event 'Samsung Unpacked 2013 Episode 2' on 4 September in Berlin. The event will see Samsung pulling the wraps off Galaxy Note 3 as well as the company's first wearable device - the 'Galaxy Gear' smartwatch.
