Smartphone leader Samsung began rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update to Galaxy Note 3 since late January in Europe and other select regions of USA. Now, the company has finally released the new candy flavoured Google mobile OS to the India specific 3G model.
Samsung community blog, SamMobile has claimed that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update (build number: N900XXUEBOB2) has been made available through both OTA (Over-The-Air) and Kies PC companion suite to Galaxy Note 3 (with Exynos 5 Octa-core) in India.
The new OS update is expected to bring in a completely re-furbished new design language, Material design, bringing interactive user-interface, lots of animation graphics. Replacement of Dalvik with ART as its default runtime will bring improvement in performance-and-battery-life enhancement, new TouchWiz UI features, refurbished interface, lock-screen notification options and many more features.

How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop update on Samsung Galaxy Note 3:
Via OTA:
If Galaxy Note 3 owners are getting the update notifications, then select - "Yes, I'm in" option >> then, after downloading, select >> "Install now." The phone will restart automatically and the OS will be updated to the new version.
Since the roll-out process is carried out in stages, it will take some time to reach all corners of the country.
Until then, users can also check manually by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System update' >> 'Check Now';
Via Kies [Video Tutorial]:
Step 1: Connect your phone [Galaxy Note 3] to PC via USB cable [Note: Before connecting the device, be sure to have installed Kies software in PC, if not, download, HERE]
Step 2: Then, phone will get recognised by the computer. Later click on the phone image (with model number; ex: SM-N900) to the left of the screen, there you will find memory capacity and below that section, you can see 'Firmware information'. Below that you will have the 'new firmware is available' notification and click the 'Firmware upgrade' button.
Step 3: Once done with selecting 'Firmware upgrade', you will be asked to save or transfer backup files stored in the phone to PC, and then the download update process takes-off.
Step 4: 'Download update' step is followed by installation of the software.
Step 5: Once installation process is done, the device will re-start.
Step 6: Then, disconnect the phone and again re-connect the handset to PC to confirm the device is upgraded to latest firmware.
So far, Samsung has released Android 5.0 Lollipop update to Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 in India. Later it is expected to rollout the firmware to Galaxy Note 4 soon.
