After weeks of speculations, Samsung has finally released the rumored mid-range phablet Galaxy Mega 2 in India.
Galaxy Mega 2 was first launched in select South Asian markets (in Thailand and Malaysia) last month. Now, it has been made available online at the official company e-store for ₹20,900. However, there is no word on when it will be released in other e-commerce sites and local brick-and-mortar stores.
Like its name, Samsung's new phablet sports a mammoth 6.0-inch HD (1280x720p) screen and ships with Android 4.4 KitKat OS powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor (type unspecified) backed by 1.5GB RAM , 16 GB inbuilt memory with options of expansion up to 64GB and a 2800 mAh battery with Ultra Power Saving mode feature, seen in the flagship Galaxy devices.
Other stipulated features include 8.0-megapixel camera with CMOS sensor, full HD video recording, auto-focus, LED flash, 2.1-megapixel snapper on the front, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 + 5GHz), GPS/GLONASS and a USB v2.0 port.
Competition:
With the sub-21,000 price-tag, Galaxy Mega 2 will be competing with recently released LG G3 Stylus, Sony Xperia T3, Xperia T2 Ultra, Lenovo Vibe Z K910, Nokia Lumia 1320, Micromax Doodle 2 A240 and other low-cost domestic smartphones.
