Samsung has finally released its mid-range smartphones -- Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) -- in its home country South Korea. The launch comes a month after the handsets were made available in China.
The Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) are available in black and gold colours on KT, according to Samsung Korea website (via SamMobile). The Galaxy J5 (2016) comes with a price tag of 290,000 Won (around $254), and the Galaxy J7 (2016) is priced at 363,000 Won (around $318). The website went on to say that the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) is expected to be released in South Korea in the near future.
Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) in Europe and India soon.
The Galaxy J5 (2016) has a metal frame, sports a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (282 ppi pixel density), and measures 145.8x72.3x8.1 mm in dimension. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, running Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes packed with a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card) and a 2GB RAM.
The device houses a 13MP main camera with features like f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, autofocus and LED flash, a 5MP front-snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash and a 3,100mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) has a metal frame, sports a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), and measures 151.7x76x7.8 mm in dimension.
Under the hood, it has a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card), 3GB RAM, a 13MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, autofocus and LED flash, a 5MP front-snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, and a 3,300 mAh battery.
