Samsung released the much-awaited budget smartphones, the Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) in India more than a month after they were launched in China. The devices are just a few days into the release but it has now emerged that buyers can avail an attractive exchange offer for the handsets.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016) are available for as low as Rs. 2,989 each through an exchange offer, according to a report by the Times of India. However, there is no mention of what devices are accepted for the exchange deal.
The devices were launched exclusively on the popular online retailer Flipkart last week. The Galaxy J5 (2016) is originally priced at Rs. 13,999, while the Galaxy J7 (2016) comes with a price tag of Rs. 15,990.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) has a metal frame, sports a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (282 ppi pixel density), measures 145.8x72.3x8.1 mm in dimension and weighs 159 g.
It has a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow (Android 5.1 Lollipop in Chinese version), a 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, a 2GB RAM, a 13MP main camera with features like f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, autofocus and LED flash, a 5MP front-snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, and a 3,100mAh battery.
The Galaxy J7 (2016) too comes with a metal frame but is superior to the Galaxy J5 in terms of specifications. The device sports a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), measures 151.7x76x7.8 mm in dimension and weighs 170 g.
It has a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow (Android 5.1 Lollipop in Chinese version), a 16GB internal memory which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, a 3GB RAM, a 13MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, autofocus and LED flash, a 5MP front-snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, and a 3,300mAh battery.
