Samsung appears to be working on Galaxy J5 (2016), the successor of J5 that was released last year, and details of the device, including specifications, have been leaked on a benchmarking site.
The South Korean electronics giant is expected to release Galaxy J5 (2016) in mid 2016, as by this time its predecessor completes a year's cycle in the market. Galaxy J5 was released in June 2015, so it won't come as a surprise if its successor comes around June 2016.
Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) will sport a 5.2-inch display with 1280 x 720p resolution, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and Adreno 306 GPU. It wlll run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, comes packed with 16GB internal memory and 2GB RAM, and houses a 12 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper, according to details provided by GFXBench (via Gadgetzarena).
The device is also expected to come with features like accelerometer, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, GPS and NFC.
Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) with model number SM-J510FN has been spotted on Zauba, a website that keeps track of imports and exports in India. The device marked as "R & D PURPOSE & EVALUATION &NOT FOR RETAIL SALE", carries a price tag of Rs.17,031 though its actual price will be different when it hits the stores.
It may be mentioned that Galaxy J5 (2015) shares several features with its successor. It sports a 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels (294 ppi pixel density), is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, comes packed with 8/16GB internal memory expandable up to 128GB via microSD card and 1.5GB RAM, has a13 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper, and houses a 2600 mAh battery.
