World smartphone leader Samsung officially launched the second-generation mid-range handset Galaxy Grand 2 in India today (23 December).
Galaxy Grand 2, successor to the company's bestselling mid-range phone Galaxy Grand, was officially unveiled last month. Samsung has bumped the device's screen size and the internal hardware. It now flaunts a bigger 5.25-inch HD (1280x720p) TFT display and boasts faux-leather stitching on the back side, similar to the one in Galaxy Note 3.
The new phone runs on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS, powered by an efficient 1.2GHz quad-core processor, paired with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 64GB).
It also houses an 8.0-megapixel main camera (with LED flash support and auto-focus), and a 1.9-megapixel HD secondary snapper. To further enhance the photography experience, the company has introduced smart camera features - Best Face, Best Photo, Continuous Shot, Story Album, Sound & Shot, S Translator, S Travel and more.
The company has reportedly confirmed that the Grand 2 would be made available in local stores from the first week of January for around ₹22,900 to ₹24,900.
