Samsung is reportedly set to introduce another model in its much popular Galaxy Grand handset line-up, tipped as Galaxy grand "Lite".
Codenamed GT-I9060, the Galaxy Grand Lite handset is said to be positioned between the original Samsung Galaxy Grand and the recently announced Galaxy Grand 2.
Some of the key specifications of the handset are:
- 5-inch WVGA resolution screen
- 5-megapixel rear and front VGA camera
- 1.2GHz quad-core processor
- 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory storage (with Micro SD card support)
- 2100mAh battery
The smartphone is expected to run on the older version of Android, 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, but reports suggest that it may arrive with 4.3 Jelly Bean OS by the time it gets released.
The handset is also given dual-SIM support like its predecessor Galaxy Grand. Two SIM slots ae widely popular in countries like India and China.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite will be available in white, midnight black, lime green and in orange variants, reported Sam Mobile
The handset is said to be launched around the same as the Mobile World Congress Event in February 2014.
Samsung-Intel's - Tizen May Join Firefox OS
Wonsuk Lee, chief secretary of Samsung, expressed his intention to join hands with Mozilla at the Conference for establishing HTML5 Fusion Technique, bringing its Tizen and Firefox OS closer in competition with iOS and Android.
While Firefox has been targeting low-end devices, it would club perfectly with the Samsung-Intel created Tizen OS which is also suited for low-end hardware.
