Before Samsung could officially announce the new smartphone, Galaxy Core Prime, an online store has listed the price and specification details in India.
Flipkart, probably in its bid to attract more consumers at the ongoing Big Billion Day discount gala online, listed the yet-to-be-released smartphone Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (White model) for ₹8,499.
Once the word got out in the media, the price details were reportedly taken down. However, by then some tech blogs had taken a screenshot of the page.
According to the listing (courtesy, GSM Arena), Galaxy Core Prime sports 4.5-inch WVGA PLS display, and ship with Android v4.4 KitKat OS out-of-the-box.
Under the hood, it packs 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB), 5.0-megapixel (with LWD flash, full HD video recording), 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 2,000 mAh battery.
As of now, there is no word neither from Flipkart nor Samsung as to when the Galaxy Core Prime will be officially released.
Once launched, it will be competing with the popular Motorola Moto E, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Android One devices - (Micromax Advance A1, Spice Dream Uno and Karbonn Sparkle V) as well as the Windows powered Nokia Lumia 530, 525 and other low-cost domestic smartphones.
