There are dozens of mid-range smartphones currently available in the Indian market, and another device that could join the fray is the Samsung Galaxy C7, which has been released in China. There are reports that the device is exclusively for the Chinese market, but there are possibilities of the company releasing it in India, as it has been spotted on Zauba, a website that keeps track of imports and exports in the country.
If released in India, the Samsung Galaxy C7 will have to take on some popular handsets like the Xiaomi Mi 5, Nexus 5X, and OnePlus 2. Here are specifications of the device to help you buy one that suits your taste:
Samsung Galaxy C7
The device comes in two variants, one with a 32GB priced at ¥2599 (around $396/Rs. 26,600), and the other with a 64GB memory and comes with a price tag of ¥2799 (around $427/Rs. 28,600). Indian pricing is not known yet but it appears like it will be priced over Rs. 20,000.
The Galaxy C7 sports a 5.7-inch full HD super AMOLED screen with 1,920x1,080 pixels, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It has a 32/64GB internal memory (expandable up to 128GB), 4GB RAM, 16MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP front-snapper with f/1.9 aperture, and a 3,300mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
Xiaomi Mi 5
Xiaomi's flagship smartphone is priced at Rs 24,999 for the 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM model. It sports a 5.15-inch full HD screen with 1,920x1,080 pixel (428 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI v7.0. It also has a 16MP Sony IMX298 main camera, a 4MP front-snapper with 2µm pixel size and a 3,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
OnePlus 2
The device is available in two variants, a 16GB model priced at Rs. 20,999 and a 32GB version with a price tag of Rs. 22,999. It sports a 5.5-inch LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1,080x1,920 pixels (401 ppi pixel density), powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The device also mounts a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and OIS, a 5MP front-snapper with f/2.4 aperture, and a 3,300mAh battery.
LG Google Nexus 5X
The 16 GB variant of the Nexus 5X is priced at Rs. 23,990 in a few websites (Rs. 27,990 on Google Store), and sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,080x1,920 pixels (423 ppi pixel density). Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow (upgradable to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow), 16GB internal memory (no microSD card slot), a 2GB RAM, a 12.3MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture and a 2,700mAh battery.
