More details of the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 have been surfacing over the past few days, giving a hint that they could be nearing release. The devices are reportedly from Samsung's C series, a new line of product after the A and J families.
According to a report by Sam Mobile China (via SamMobile), the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 are expected to be released in May and exclusively for the Chinese market. It added that the new C family may fit between Samsung's budget and high-end smartphones.
Now, Chinese website MyDriver (via SamMobile) has revealed several details of the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7, including specifications and pricing. According to the report, the devices will have a metal unibody with thickness measuring between 6mm and 7mm, and be available in silver, gold, pink and gray. The handsets are expected to share several features. like a FullHD 1,920x1080p display, Ultra High Quality Audio (UHQA), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 4GB RAM, 32/64GB internal storage, a 16MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture and an 8MP front-snapper.
It went on to say that the main difference between the two devices is the screen size. The Galaxy C5 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch display and house a 2,600mAh battery. It is expected to come with a price tag of 1,599 yuan (around $246 / Rs. 16,300). On the other hand, the Galaxy C7 is expected to sport a 5.7-inch display and a 3,300mAh battery, and be priced at 1,799 yuan (around $276 / Rs. 18,400).
A Samsung device with model number SM-C5000, believed to be the Galaxy C5, has been spotted on Zauba, a website that tracks imports and exports in India, with a 5.2-inch display, for testing and R&D purposes. Geekbench benchmark has also listed the device with a Snapdragon 617 SoC clocking 1.5GHz, an octa-core CPU, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, an Adreno 405 GPU and 4GB RAM.
