Samsung appears to be concentrating on budget and mid-range smartphones, and it is reportedly set to float a new line-up called the Galaxy C series. It has now emerged that the first devices to come out of the new series would be called the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7.
The Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 devices are expected to be released in May and could be an exclusive for the Chinese market, according to SamMobile China (via SamMobile). It went on to suggest that the series could fit between Samsung's budget and high-end smartphones.
However, one can't rule out that Samsung may never release its Galaxy C series in India. A device with model number SM-C5000, perhaps the Galaxy C5, has been spotted on Zauba, a website that tracks imports and exports in India. The device with 5.2-inch display was meant for testing and R&D purpose.
A new device with model number SM-C5000 was earlier spotted on Geekbench benchmark, giving a hint that Samsung is working on its Galaxy C series, reported Telefoobabonnement (via Phone Arena). The benchmark listing has the device with a Snapdragon 617 SoC clocking at 1.5GHz, an octa-core CPU, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the Adreno 405 GPU and a 4GB RAM.
