Samsung's metal-clad Galaxy Alpha and its mid-range A Series (A3, A5 & A7) siblings had received phenomenal response in global market, now the company is reportedly readying new generation model with advanced bio-metric technology on tow.
Samsung community website SamMobile, citing company insiders, has confirmed that a new device code-named SM-A800F, understood to be the new Galaxy A8 under works and would feature touch-based finger-print sensor, like the one we see in the current flagship Galaxy S6 series smartphone.
Other stipulated features of Galaxy A8 include metal-frame around the edges, 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, Android Lollipop OS, 64-bit class Snapdragon 615 Octa-core SoC (System on Chip), 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, 3050 mAh battery and 4-LTE connectivity.
All the features specified by SamMobile tipsters are in line the specifications of Galaxy A8, which was spotted on the performance benchmarking site GFXBench.
Except the finger-print sensor, Galaxy A8 has pretty much same features seen inside its predecessor A7. But if priced aggressively, it is certain to help Samsung make a come-back in mid-range category, which is overshadowed by emerging Chinese firms like in Xiaomi, ZTE Nubia, Meizu and Oppo in developing markets of Asia (China and India).
As of now, there is no word as to when the Galaxy A8 will be unveiled, but rumours are rife that Samsung will the retail the device in Europe and other developed Asian regions besides China.
