Samsung is tight-lipped on the release date and other details of its upcoming device dubbed as the Galaxy A8 and the hype around the Galaxy Note 5 has not helped it either in terms of publicity. Now, an image of the purported device along with its specifications has made it online, giving a hint of an early launch.
The alleged picture of the Galaxy A8 came after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Chinese telecommunications governing body, TENAA, certified it.
According to a report by GSM Arena, one of its readers spotted the picture of a device believed to be the Samsung Galaxy A8 in a brochure in South Korea and forwarded it to the website. Most of the specifications mentioned in the pictures are in sync with the ones reported on the Galaxy A8.
The device weighs 141g, comes with a dimension of 158 × 76.8 × 5.9 mm, sports a 143.9mm (5.66-inch) FHD Super AMOLED screen, powered by Octa Core (Quad 1.8 GHz + Quad 1.3 GHz) processor and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. It is also spotted with 32GB of internal storage expandable up to 128GB via microSD card, 2G B RAM, 3,050mAh battery, LTE Cat. 6 with VoLTE, DMB, and 16 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper.
On the other hand, TENAA listing has revealed that the Galaxy A8 might come with features such as a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with 1920×1080 resolution, 158 × 76.77 × 5.94 mm dimension, Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 16 GB of internal memory with microSD card slot up to 128 GB, 2 GB RAM, 16 MP main camera and 5 MP front snapper, and weighs 142g.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 with model number SM-A800F was also recently spotted on Zauba website that keeps track of imports and exports in India. The device with model number SM-A800F_MEA_XSG imported from South Korea to Bangalore, India, comes with the tag "FOR TESTING PURPOSE & EVALUATION & NOT FOR RETAIL SALE" and is priced ₹22,889 (official price expected to be different).
