Samsung Galaxy A series challenges the premium budget smartphone rivals in the market and 2017 is going to be the year for an upgrade. While rumours about the new Galaxy A5 and A7 2017 editions have made the headlines recently, the former has made another appearance online.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017), which is expected to be released early next year, just passed FCC certification, getting a step closer to the official launch. The handset has already passed Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications and also appeared online Geekbench benchmarking site recently.
The Galaxy A5 (2017) with the model number SM-A520F will follow most likely follow the company's signature design. In terms of specs, it is expected to be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage with microSD card support.
The unannounced handset will feature a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 13MP primary camera and a 3,000mAh battery. If we compare the upcoming handset with the current version, the difference isn't vast.
The Galaxy A5 (2016) features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED capacitive Full HD display, a 13MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, 28mm, OIS, autofocus and LED flash and a 5MP front-snapper with f/1.9 aperture and 24mm. Under the hood, it sports a 2,900mAh battery, a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
The biggest highlights of the upgraded Galaxy A5 (2017) will be its performance and battery. Will that be enough for Samsung to pull in the required sales? Well, we'll find out in time.
