Samsung Electronics appears to be eyeing automotive market in a big way. After acquiring Harman International Industries, an American firm that designs and engineers connected products for automakers, the company is reportedly supplying chips for Tesla Motors' self-driving cars.
The South Korean technology giant will supply semiconductors to American electric car maker Tesla Motors, according to Reuters that cited a report by South Korea's Electronic Times.

Samsung is yet to confirm the report but it is obvious that the company has been showing lots of interest in automotive industry of late. It has announced partnership with Lucid Motors to supply lithium-ion battery cells. Lucid Motors' chief technology officer Peter Rawlinson had said in a statement that the new battery from Samsung SDI will would benefit its customers.
The South Korean company announced in November that it would acquire Harman International Industries for $8 billion, its biggest deal to date. It said that it would supply products and services for car makers but wouldn't get into car manufacturing.
