In 2014 Samsung released Android 5.0 Lollipop to flagship phone Galaxy S5 within a month after Google rolled out the update to the Nexus devices without hogging any limelight. This year also, the Korean electronics giant seems to have similar plans.
Samsung has reportedly begun the testing of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to a slew of Galaxy S and Note series devices.

Samsung community blog SamMobile, citing company insider, has revealed that flagship Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 5, Note 4, Galaxy S5 will get the taste of Google's new sugar treat flavoured OS.
There is no word on when the update will be deployed, but if history is taken as any indication, one can expect Samsung to soon release Marshmallow OS to Galaxy Note 5 and S6 series by November end as these are the company's flagship smartphones.
For the uninitiated, Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with native support for fingerprint sensor input, leaner and faster Chrome browser, more intuitive Now on Tap feature, new security feature verified boot system, support for more international dialects, new contextual assistance feature, Google photos and auto back-up from where all apps user data (less than 25MB) will automatically be stored in Google Drive.

The key aspect of Marshmallow is the Doze power saving feature, which has been incorporated to extend battery life by at least 30% depending on the device's internal hardware.
