Samsung's ATIV S handset, which runs on Windows OS is now receiving the much awaited Windows Phone 8 GDR 3 update.
The update is said to roll-out to users bringing the OS version to 8.0.10517.150. It has been speculated that tracking the gradual roll-outs, the updates will take a while to reach all the users.
Some of the features included in the GDR 3 updates include:
-Driving mode
-Option to close apps from the multitasking page
-Ability to use Wi-Fi for setting up a new device
-Orientation screen lock feature
-Custom ringtones for IMs, personalized calls, texts.
-Bluetooth internet sharing
-Support for 1080p display and faster processors, reports Sam Mobile.
The GDR 3 or General Distribution Release 3 update for Windows Phone 8 is the final OS before Windows Phone 8.1. The update has been already released-to-manufacturers in September and was officially released on October 14.
Currently, Nokia Lumia 1520 is said to launch in November with GDR 3 update. In addition to the OS update, Nokia devices will also receive the Lumia Black firmware update, according to Wp Central.

Meanwhile, it has been also noted that along with Samsung ATIV S receiving the GDR 3 update, the Korean tech firm has also unveiled its Galaxy S3 mini's Crystal Edition, which royally flaunts its 166 Swarovski crystal elements for the fashion-conscious.
The handset is available in Germany and costs 299 Euros ($403). The specifications stay the same with 4in Super AMOLED WVGA display, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5 megapixel camera and 1500mAh battery capacity, reports Sammy Hub.
