South Korean electronics major Samsung on Monday (3 June) announced two Galaxy Tab 3 series tablets PCs - one 8.0-inch and another 10.1-inch variant.
The bigger Galaxy Tab 3 10.1-inch model sports a WXGA TFT screen with HD 1280x800p display resolution having pixel density of 149 ppi (pixels per inch). It packs 1GB RAM, 3.0-megapixel main camera and a 1.3 -megapixel secondary camera.
On the other hand, the smaller Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 varinat features slightly superior specifications, such as a better display panel having pixel density of 189 ppi resolution, 1.5GB RAM, 5.0-megapixel main camera and a 1.3-camera on the front.
Both the Galaxy Tab 3 devices run on the Android mobile OS v4.2 Jelly Bean and house dual-core processor with small difference in CPU speed.
Samsung did not reveal details regarding the price and availability of the devices as yet, but many believe that the company would showcase them at the upcoming Samsung event later this month.
In related news, the 'Samsung Premiere 2013 Galaxy & Ativ' event in London on 20 June is also expected to witness the launch of two Galaxy S4 models - the rugged and water-proof Galaxy S4 Active and the camera-centric Galaxy S4 Zoom with 10X optical zoom.
The premiere event is also expected to see the unveiling of Ativ series of new smartphones, tablets and hybrid PCs based on Windows Operating System.
