The news of the upcoming Mohanlal-Manju Warrier-Sathyan Anthikkad film has created waves in Kerala. The latest update indicates that cinematographer Sameer Thahir has joined the Anthikkad directorial.
Sameer is known for his visual captures in films like "Big B" (2007), "Daddy Cool" (2009), "Chaappa Kurish" (2011), "Nidra" (2012), "Diamond Necklace" (2012), "5 Sundarikal"(2013) and "Bangalore Days" (2014). Apart from cinematography, he has also directed "Chaappa Kurish", "Isha – 5 Sundarikal" and "Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi" (2013). This is the first time Sameer is working with both Anthikkad and Mohanlal.
Meanwhile, Anthikkad is known for sticking to a fixed team for all his production, but the director recently worked with a fresh team for his last flick "Oru Indian Pranayakadha" (2013), which starred Fahadh Faasil and Amala Paul in the lead. The film was scripted by Iqbal Kuttipuram and was a box office hit.
The new Anthikkad film has already become the most awaited film of the year. Mohanlal and Manju have earlier created some magical performances together in "Araam Thampuran", "Kanmadham" and "Summer in Bethlehem."
The shooting of the untitled film is set to begin in October and is scripted by Ranjan Pramod, who has earlier scripted Anthikkad's two hit films "Manassinakkare" (2003) and "Achuvinte Amma"(2005).
"Yes, my next project will be starred by Mohanlal and Manju Warrier, which will be directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. The thought of casting Manju came two months back and the storyline was confirmed two days back. My challenge is to give the best script for Mohanlal-Manju combination. At the same time, I have to make sure their characters are well defined and they stand out. I am in the process of writing something that reflects their personalities," said Ranjan Pramod to IBTimes, Indian Edition.
The film is said to be an entertainer and will also see Innocent in a pivotal role. The music of the film will be composed by Vidyasagar and is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas.
