After a successful writing venture in the smartphone market, Salora International Ltd (SIL) forayed into the budget tablet segment on Wednesday with a new range of tablets called Protab.
The company has introduced two tablets in this range which includes Salora Protab and Salora Protab HD. The Salora Protab HD tablets comes with a 7-inch LCD multi-touch capacitive screen with a pixel resolution of 1024X600 and is powered by ARM Cortex A9 1.2GHz processor. The tablet runs on Android Jelly Bean operating system and houses a 0.3-megapixel front camera. It comes with a memory of 1GB RAM and an internal memory of 4GB onboard which is expandable. The device measures 9.9 mm thick, weighs 290 grams and packs a 3,200mAh battery which claims to give a backup of 4 to 5 hours of video playback time. Salora Protab HD is available for ₹5,499.

On the other hand, Salora Protab sports a 7-inch screen with 800X480 pixel resolution and is powered by 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor. This tablet runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and packs a memory of 512 MB RAM with 4GB internal storage. The tablet supports WIFI and USB, and has a 0.3-megapixel front camera backed by a 3200 mAh battery. The device is priced at ₹4,999.
