Salman Khan and Karan Johar reportedly had a fallout some time back, but now reports suggest that the superstar has come up in support of the director and asked the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief to allow the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
It has been reported that Salman requested MNS president Raj Thackeray not to create troubles in the release of Karan's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which also features the Sultan actor's former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
"Those in the industry who are aware of Salman's call and support Karan are impressed by his gesture," SpotboyE quoted a source as saying. The report said that Salman not only asked the MNS head to spare Ae Dil Hai Mushkil but also Shah Rukh Khan's Raees.
In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Uri, the MNS had asked all the Pakistani actors and actresses in India to leave the nation and had also given a 48-hour ultimatum. The group also demanded that all the scenes featuring Fawad Khan in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil should be chopped off or else they would not let the film release in Mumbai.
Whether the MNS will entertain Salman's request or not is a different issue, but the actor coming out for Karan's help is something unexpected. There were reports that Salman was miffed with the film-maker for his involvement in controversial AIB Knockout Roast, in which jokes were cracked on the actor's sister Arpita Khan.
It was supposed to be the reason behind Salman opting out of Karan's film Shuddhi. While there have been no reports of things getting easy between Salman and Karan, the actor offering his helping hand for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil suggests that the gesture may be for Aishwarya.
