It was recently reported that Salman Khan's "Sultan" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees" will not have any box office clash as the former reportedly shifted the release date from 2016 Eid to 2016 Diwali. However, it turned out to be a mere rumour.
"Sultan will release on Eid 2016. The shooting will begin in November 2015 and will wrap up in March 2016. There are no plans to shift the release date," Pinkvilla quoted an official spokesperson of Yash Raj Films.
When asked about his views regarding the clash, Salman said, "We feel that if both the films come on Eid next year, there is enough time to build enough theatres to accommodate both of them. This will only make the industry grow."
Shah Rukh also shared the view. "There are 365 days in a year, which amounts to 54 Fridays and there are bound to be clashes. The business will get divided. But Salman and I are such good friends that we have decided to do everything together, including releasing the movies," Shah Rukh was quoted earlier.
While neither Salman nor Shah Rukh seemed bothered about the box office clash, trade analysts were very much concerned that the clash would affect collection of both the films. When it was decided to release both the films on 2016 Eid, some reports suggested that Salman decided to shift the release of "Sultan" to 2016 Diwali. Reports claimed that Salman made the decision to avoid clash with Shah Rukh, who has been a good friend for some time.
