Ali Abbas Zafar's "Sultan" is special to Anushka Sharma and that is why the actress is keen on hosting a special screening for her alleged beau Virat Kohli and his teammates.
"Sultan," starring Salman Khan and Anushka, is set for Eid 2016 release. The film is much awaited for Salman and Anushka's fans, as both will be seen in an action avatar. Salman and Anushka play wrestlers in the film, and to get their roles perfect, both of them went through rigorous training.
And since this project is so close to Anushka, the actress decided to host a special screening of the film for Virat. "It is a special film for Anushka since she will be playing a wrestler for the first time. She has trained hard for the role and wants to show her dhobi pachhaad act to her near and dear ones for their feedback. She wanted to host a screening just for Virat, but is now thinking of extending an invitation to a few of his teammates too," Mid-Day quoted a source as saying.
However, it is not clear whether the production house, Yash Raj Films, will hold a special screening of the film. Yash Raj Films is not known for organising special screening of their releases, so the special preview is likely to take place a day before its scheduled release.
"Anushka has spoken to the production team about it, but things are yet to be finalised. Virat-led Indian cricket team leaves on its tour of the West Indies next month with the first warm-up game slated for July 9-10. So, it might not be a problem for the Men In Blue to attend the screening," the source said.
"Sultan" is a romance-action drama starring Salman and Anushka in the lead roles. The film is slated to hit the screens on July 6 worldwide.
