Salman Khan's "Sultan" is still the most awaited Bollywood movie of 2016, according to a monthly survey conducted by Ormax Media. "Sultan" has remained in the top position in the list of most anticipated movies of 2016 for the last few months.
The survey, titled "Ormax Cinematix," has led to the compilation of a list of top five most-awaited Bollywood films of 2016 as of May 21. The survey is based on public opinion and includes the movies whose trailers are yet to be released. "Ormax Cinematix" is reportedly a survey on the audience's intent to watch a movie, taking four parameters into consideration – buzz, reach, appeal and interest.
The movie "Sultan" has topped the list, and is followed by Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees" and Aamir Khan's "Dangal." Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story," the biopic of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has secured the fourth slot and Akshay Kumar's "Rustom" is in the fifth position.
The research organisation had conducted similar surveys in the months of January and March, and "Sultan" had secured the top position in them as well. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, "Sultan" will present Salman as a wrestler from Haryana. The film also features Anushka Sharma, and the trailer is slated to be released on May 24. "Sultan" will hit the screens on Eid.
Shah Rukh's "Raees" was also supposed to be hit the screens on Eid but the makers of the movie have apparently postponed its release to Jan 2017. Aamir Khan-starrer "Dangal" is also based on wrestling, as it is a biopic of wrestler Mahavir Phogat. It will be released on Christmas this year.
MS Dhoni being one of the most popular Indian cricketers currently, his biopic is also much awaited and will hit the screens on Sept. 2 this year. Akshay's "Housefull 3" was also in the top 5 most anticipated Bollywood movies of 2016 in the last two surveys of Ormax Media, but its trailer was released recently. Now, Akshay's other upcoming movie, "Rustom," has featured in the list.
