Sonam Kapoor might be pleased with the phenomenal response a recent cover shoot has got her, but "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" director Sooraj Barjatya apparently isn't too happy about the dare-to-bare act.
According to a DNA source, Barjatya feels the risqué content on a popular glossy will take away the charm of the village belle she plays in "PRDP".
"Sooraj was quite upset by Sonam's ultra-modern avatar on the cover which borders on risque. In PRDP, the girl she plays is a far cry from the supreme seductress on the latest cover. He feels this sort of image will jeopardise her on-screen persona in his film," the insider was quoted as saying.
The photoshoot in question features her in an unbuttoned blazer and a satin purple gown. It went viral within no time and has received over 44,000 likes on Instagram, as of now.
However, this isn't the first time that an actor has been reprimanded for their off-screen persona. Ranveer Singh, after signing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani", made quite splash with Hrithik Roshan's "Bang Bang" dare.
In a Krrish cape and mask, the young star stepped out of his car dancing to "Main Aisa Kyun Hoon" ("Lakshya") on crossroads of a busy area in Mumbai. While social media was praising Singh's spontaneity, the act reportedly didn't go down too well with the filmmaker. Bhansali also apparently didn't appreciate Singh's "AIB Roast" stint.
In other news, the film features Salman Khan in a double role – one of a commoner, and the other of a prince. Slated for a Diwali release, it also stars Anupam Kher, and Neil Nitin Mukesh in key roles.
