Kabir Khan's romantic action thriller "Ek Tha Tiger" starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif has collected Rs 1.5 billion at the Box Office in nine days, making it the second highest grosser Hindi film after Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots".
The movie, which was released on India's Independence Day, has beaten Salman's two blockbusters "Bodyguard" and "Dabangg" with each collecting approximately Rs1.40 billion (Rs 140 crores).

"As you read this, #EkThaTiger has *crossed* 150 cr nett in India *today*. Now the 2nd biggest grosser of Hindi cinema, after #3Idiots."

When it was released, the movie earned Rs 320 million, breaking the records of "Agneepath" which was the biggest opener at the box office with Rs 220 million.
Aamir Khan's "3 Idiot", which was released in 2009, became the highest-grossing film of all time in the country and Box Office India declared the film as an "All time Blockbuster".
"Ek Tha Tiger" made record collections in overseas market too. It shattered all previous records of Bollywood movies in the international market.
