Salman Khan is considered as king of the box office, but his fans won't see any of his films releasing this year. Last year, he shattered records at the domestic box office with blockbuster films like "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Dabangg 2".
All his films are highly anticipated, but according to recent reports there may be no films of his releasing this year.
The only film which was supposed to release this year was "Mental" directed by Sohail Khan, but the recent report suggest that the film's release date is now postponed to next year around mid-January.
"In keeping with the screenplay, it will take the Khans around 135 days to complete the shooting. There are five major action sequences including the high-octane climax, which takes place on a highway with Salman bringing all traffic to a halt. Most importantly, everything is planned bearing in mind Salman's nerve trouble (Trigeminal Neuralgia). Sohail wants to ensure it doesn't aggravate in any manner whatsoever," The Times of India quoted a source as saying.
The makers of the film are not finding a suitable weekend after 2 October to release the film. In Diwali, Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3" is releasing, while in Christmas Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3" is due for release. So the makers of the film have reportedly decided to release the film next year in January, TOI reported.
"January 26, 2014 is a Sunday, so there's no advantage of releasing on the Republic Day weekend. The earlier Friday is January 17 and Makar Sankranti on January 14, a Tuesday. So they might come with Mental on Tuesday for the benefit Makar Sankranti might give them,'' the source said.
The film is a remake of Telugu hit "Stalin" and features Salman and Diana Penty in lead roles and Tabu in a supporting role. Earlier, the film was set to hit the screens during Eid, but the film's shooting started in February delayingthe release.
