It looks like Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swamy starrer "Thani Oruvan" will become a big hit, with the movie now attracting filmmakers from other industries for its remake rights.
"Thani Oruvan" has now drawn the attention of Salman Khan, reports Sify. As per the website, the Bollywood superstar is going to watch the Tamil movie soon and it goes without saying that if the film impresses the "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" star, he will star in the Hindi remake.
Salman Khan has never shied away from acting in remake films and some of his remake include "Wanted" (remake of Telugu film "Pokiri" starring Mahesh Babu), "Bodyguard" (remake of Malayalam film starring Dileep of the same name), "Ready" (remake of the Telugu film starring Ram of the same name) and "Kick" (remake of the Telugu movie starring Ravi Teja of the same name).
The general belief is that the content of these films appeal to all types of audiences and the project will go to different level when an A-list actor features in it. So Salman Khan fits the bill, opine people in Kollywood.
Meanwhile, there is also a good demand for the remake rights from other industries. Notably, a few Telugu producers have approached AGS Entertainment for the rights, but the production house is still negotiating the price.
"Thani Oruvan" is written and directed by Jayam Raja. The film has opened to highly positive reviews from the audience and critics. As a result, the film has registered a fantastic business in its opening weekend by raking in Rs 13.25 crore.
The audience turnout for the film was good on Monday and Tuesday, which clearly shows that the movie, which stars Jayam Ravi as a cop and Arvind Swamy in the role of the antagonist, will become a hit in Kollywood.
