Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set to watch Telugu movie "Pelli Choopulu" at a special screening and he is likely to remake the Tharun Bhascker-directed romantic-comedy film in Hindi.

"Pelli Choopulu" is a shoe-string-budget movie, which has been made with Rs. 60 lakh, while the producer spent another Rs. 60 lakh on its promotion. D Suresh Babu acquired its theatrical rights for an amount of Rs 1.50 crore and released it under his banner Suresh Productions across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) on July 29. The film has turned out to be one of the big money spinners of 2016.

The Vijay Deverakonda, Nandhu and Ritu Varma-starrer is not only a commercial success, but also won lot of laurels from critics, audience and celebs, including "Baahubali" director SS Rajamouli. After hearing the reports about it, Salman Khan has reportedly evinced interest in watching "Pelli Choopulu." Producer Suresh Babu has apparently planned to hold a special screening of the film for the superstar.

Salman Khan has a good relationship with Daggubati family stars like Venkatesh and Rana and he had also visited their residence in Hyderabad a couple of times in the recent past. Suresh Babu is now waiting to get information about Salman's free time to arrange a special screening of "Pelli Choopulu" for him.

Soon after the news hit the net, speculations were being made that Salman Khan would remake "Pelli Choopulu" in Bollywood. It is not clear whether Salman would star in its Hindi remake or just produce the film. However, his association with the remake would definitely make it a big success at Bollywood box office too, say experts in the industry.

"Pelli Choopulu" has collected over Rs. 5 crore gross at the AP/T box office in its opening week. The movie is estimated to have earned Rs. 3.50 crore for the distributors in seven days. The film has also fared well in North America and collected approximately over $0.5 million at the U.S. box office in nine days.

The critical and commercial success of "Pelli Choopulu" had created huge demand for its satellite rights and several leading channels were in the race to bag its rights. The latest we hear is that popular entertainment channel Gemini TV has acquired its Television rights for a whopping amount of Rs. 2.35 crore.
