Bollywood's two superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have buried the hatchet, but the two will stand opposite to each other at the box office next year during Eid.
Both, Salman and Shah Rukh, have booked Eid 2016 date to release their films "Sultan" and "Raees", respectively.
Earlier, "Raees" producer Ritesh Sidhwani announced on Twitter that his film "Raees" starring Shah Rukh and Pakistani actress Mahira Khan will release on Eid 2016. Recently, Yash Raj Productions reveled the release date of "Sultan" starring Salman with a short teaser.
"We had announced in February that we will be releasing our film on EID 2016 & we are on schedule to release it as planned #RaeesOnEid2016," producer Ritesh Sidhwani said.
"Drop EVERYTHING: @BeingSalmanKhan In & As SULTAN #SultanEid2016," YRF tweeted.
Often, producers and director avoid releasing a film with other big budget movies, especially when the clash is with Bollywood's trio Khans. But next year, the box office war will be between Salman's "Sultan" and Shah Rukh's "Raees". The box office clash of Salman and Shah Rukh is touted as one of the biggest face offs in Bollywood, until now.
With "Sultan" and "Raees", Salman and Shah Rukh will clash at the box office after almost a decade. In 2006, Shah Rukh's "Don" clashed with Salman's "Jaan-E-Mann". But "Don" turned out to be a bigger hit than "Jaan-E-Mann".
And Eid is said to be Salman's lucky period, and his past releases during the festival have turned out to be blockbusters.
But it remains to be seen which movie will excel at the box office and which will fall flat.
