Salman Khan's fans were left confused recently, when the "Kick" star went on a Twitter rant about how he doesn't like them insulting and demeaning other actors in the industry. While this might have left his fans reeling, fans of Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were evidently pleased.
Salman, in an angry mood, told his fans not to troll other stars and engage in a war-of-words with each other over reasons related to him. The outburst came after his fans had a twitter-war with the followers of Shah Rukh and Aamir.
In a series of tweets, Salman clearly told his fans that he expects good behaviour from them and that they should learn to respect other stars. The actor also warned them that he would quit Twitter if these kind of bad trends continue on the micro-blogging site.
He also asked them to spend more time on achieving their dreams than being online to trend topics related to him and his films. His message was loud and clear and has become a guideline to his followers on Twitter.
Meanwhile, this kind of twitter-war is common is the south Indian film industry too. Ajith and Vijay fans often engage in war-of-words and have virtually fought with each other to claim that their star is the top actor in Kollywood.
The intensity of the feud between Salman-Shah Rukh fans and Ajith-Vijay fans are more or less the same. The language, abuse and tricks are also similar. Hence, Ajith or Vijay should take note and probably try to calm their fans down like Salman did, and ask them to respect each other as well as other stars in the industry.
However, unlike Salman, Vijay and Ajith aren't active on social media. Though Ilayathalapathy occasionally hits Twitter through his official fans page to interact with his followers, he isn't a regular.
So will these actors take a leaf out of Salman's book and try to convey the message to their fans? Only time will tell.
