Director Sooraj Barjatya recently confirmed that he will be teaming up with Salman Khan, after "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo." The director-actor jodi will come together for a family drama.
Reports suggested that Salman asked Sooraj to work on an action film instead of a family drama. However, the director ruled out the possibility of making an action film.
During the Zee Cine Awards 2016 Saturday, director Sooraj confirmed that he will be working with Salman, and the film will go on floors in October.
"I have discussed an idea with Salman Khan and I am currently working on the script. It is definitely not an action film, so I don't know who started these rumours. I will be directing Salman in my next film," Sooraj said, according to Catch News.
Sooraj also said that he will not work on any other genre anytime soon. Sooraj, who is the king of family dramas, has made movies like "Vivah," "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun" and "Hum Saath Saath Hain" among others. He said that he would love to explore several other angles of a nuclear family.
"I have always been interested to make family films because I think there are a lot of stories which are left to be said in a family drama. I am not just talking about joint families, but there are so many stories about nuclear families as well, so I would like to stick to the genre of making family dramas," he added.
Meanwhile, Salman was also asked about working with Sooraj again, and the "Sultan" actor confirmed the reports.
"He's a brother to me. Whoever I am is all because of him. He gave me a great break with Maine Pyar Kiya and people started noticing me since then. Yes, there's a new film on cards because I am always ready to work with him. It's a lifelong contract," Salman told reporters at the award ceremony.
Salman and Sooraj teamed up after 16 years for "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo." The family drama, which features Salman in a double role and Sonam Kapoor in the female lead role, was released last year in November.
