Sooraj Barjatya's upcoming film with Salman Khan has finalised its title as "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", as opposed to the earlier reports of it as "Bade Bhaiya".
After much deliberation, the film's name has been finally announced and, to everyone's surprise, it is inspired from the popular devotional song (Bhajan), "Ram Ratan Dhan Payo."
"We have locked the final title - Prem Ratan Dhan Payo," confirmed a spokesperson of the film to Hindustan Times.
Even though the film's name might appear a tad odd from the first assumption, it has to be noted that the title has the unmistakable connection. "Prem" is the name of Khan's characters in Barjatya's successful films like "Main Pyaar Kiya," "Hum Aapke Hai Koun" and "Hum Sath Sath Hain." Similarly, in the upcoming film, the superstar is slated to play a character with the same name.
Previously, various reports carried "Bade Bhaiya" as the film's working title, which was never confirmed by the film makers.
The confirmation of the title happens days after the female lead of the project was announced as Sonam Kapoor. The actress had confirmed the news and seemed excited on her pairing with the superstar.
Presently, the film's cast apart from Khan and Kapoor includes Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Swara Bhaskar and Deepak Dobriyal.
The film is expected to start rolling from June this year and a massive set is under construction in Karjat, Mumbai outskirts.
Khan will also be seen in a double role after years in this family centric film. However, Armaan Kohli's presence in the film as reported earlier, could not be confirmed as of yet.
