Salman Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi coming together for a film after 22 years is news enough, but what's adding to the excitement is the casting speculation. It is being said that Katrina Kaif may romance the superstar in the supposed action-comedy.
An insider told SpotboyE that the filmmaker isn't ready to take chances with his next adding that he wants the Salman-starrer to work at any cost. Rajkumar wanted to cast Deepika Padukone but the discussions took a lot of time, which is why he moved on to Katrina.
"Santoshi wants to take no chances with the Salman film. He had been bogged down after PPNH sank and he wants to make this one work at any cost. If Kat does not do the film, Santoshi would love to cast Deepika Padukone. In fact, he had spoken to Deepika about it sometime ago- but things didn't move forward on that front soon. So now, he has spoken to Kat," the source elaborated.
If Katrina agrees, Rajkumar's film will be her and Salman's fourth film together after "Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?," "Yuvraaj," and "Ek Tha Tiger." They featured in David Dhawan's "Partner," but were paired with different set of actors.
Sources say the superstar has blocked Diwali 2017 for Rajkumar's film, and the actor-director duo has been meeting up regularly to fine-tune the script. Earlier, there were plans of making a sequel to the 1994 comic caper "Andaz Apna Apna," but the idea was dropped courtesy lack of a good storyline.
"Salman loved the script and has always been impressed with Rajji's work. He wanted to work with him and the script is perfect. There will be comedy and action in it. Both Santoshi and Kabir's films will release next year. Both the scripts are completely different from each other. Santoshi's film which roll later this year," DNA quoted an insider as saying.
