There is an interesting news for those eagerly awaiting Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, which has reportedly been titled "Padmavati." What may add to the thrill is that either Salman Khan or Ranveer Singh will essay a negative role in the film.
"He is set to tell the tale of the greatest Sultan of Hindustan and his obsessive love for the legendary queen, Padmavati, who was known for her beauty, intellect and courage. It has been tentatively titled 'Padmavati'. He had earlier directed an opera based on the same subject, which was highly appreciated in Paris and Rome," a source told Mid-Day.
The insider added that the film will open in theatres on Dec. 15, 2017. At this point, all this is only speculation as there has been no official announcement yet.
If there's any truth in what is being said about Sanjay's next, then it will be a one to watch out for. Legend has it, Alauddin Khilji was quite taken by Padmavati's beauty; she was married to Rawal Ratan Singh, 42nd ruler of Mewar. He wanted to make her his, but that didn't happen. Later, she self-immolated.
The premise is interesting and in tune with Sanjay's film. At least one or both the central characters of his last few films have died in the end — "Bajirao Mastani," "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela" and "Guzaarish" among others.
In other news, there have been reports that Deepika Padukone may pair up with Ranveer for Sanjay's film. It was being said they would come together for a modern-day love story to be shot across the picturesque Europe.
