The Sanjay Dutt biopic, which has Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, may feature a cameo by Salman Khan. On the sidelines of fbb Femina Miss India 2016, Sanjay Dutt told the media that he would want the superstar to be a part of it.
"Raju Hirani's company and mine are making the biopic on me together. I haven't heard the script yet but I hope it will be good," the Press Trust of India quoted him as saying. Ranbir, who seems to be a perfect fit for the role given his acting prowess, will have to undergo drastic bodily transformation to play the part.
Last year, the young actor had told DNA that he would have to pile on kilos for the role. "As an actor, it's my responsibility to make the audiences believe that it's not me on screen but the characters we play. So the physical transformation will be an important part of the film," he had further elaborated.
Director-producer Rajkumar Hirani said the biopic will not glorify the actor (Sanjay), instead focus on the emotional aspects. He had told the Indian Express that "underworld" wasn't his best subject and when he sat with scriptwriter Abhijat Joshi they together figured that it could be a "human story."
"It's an emotional story which also has fun moments. It is also entertaining. It's about father, son, his friends and his world," Rajkumar told the leading daily.
The makers are apparently looking at exploring Sanjay's relationships – one with his sister, wife Manyata and ex-wife Richa Sharma. But the much talked-about affair with Madhuri Dixit Nene has been left out of the narrative.
Rumour has it either Deepika Padukone or Kangana Ranaut will be seen essaying Ranbir's love interest in the film.
