Bollywood ex-flames - Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif - will be seen shaking together in an item song for a sequel of 1983 film, "Souten" if reports are to be believed.
According to reports, director of "Souten", Sawan Kumar Tak, has approached Salman and Katrina for the item song. "Souten" was a family drama starring Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim, Padmini Kolhapure, Prem Chopra and Pran in lead roles.
"Sawan Kumar has been wanting to make Souten 2 from a very long time now. Lot of people thought that the sequel would never work out. But looks like there has been some progress on the project," an insider told Mid-Day.
"The film gave some memorable tracks including Shayad meri shaadi ka khayal but the sequel will have a different kind of music," the source added.
Although reports of Salman and Katrina reuniting for the song in "Souten 2" have been doing rounds, neither the director nor the actors have made any comments on the same.
Salman and Katrina were last seen in 2012 blockbuster movie, "Ek Tha Tiger" which hit the screens after they parted ways and Kat was linked to her "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani" co-star Ranbir Kapoor. "Ek Tha Tiger" directed by Kabir Khan topped the list highest grossers of the 2012.
Earlier, it was rumoured that Katrina would be seen romancing Salman in his upcoming project, "Kick" but Sri-Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez was finalised for the female lead role. It was also said that Salman was planning to produce a movie after completing his pending projects including "Kick" and "Sher Singh", in which Katrina will play the female lead.
"Salman and Katrina are presently busy with their back-to-back commitments. But after Kick and Sher Singh, Salman plans to do a film with Katrina," a source told Hindustan Times.
