Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone become top Bollywood actor, actress, beat Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif in August 2016

Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone have yet again topped the list of Ormax Stars India Loves for August 2016. This is the eighth time in a row that Salman and Deepika have come up as the top Bollywood actor and actress since January 2016.

Ormax Media conducts a monthly survey called Ormax Stars India Loves (Ormax SIL) to assess the popularity of some of the biggest Bollywood stars. The survey result for August 2016 is out, which describes Salman and Deepika as the most loved Bollywood actor and actress, followed by Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.

The research organisation has released a list of top 10 most popular Hindi actors and actresses. While Salman, Akshay, Deepika and Katrina secured the first and second slots respectively, many other popular male and female stars have made their places in the list.

Other male actors in the list are Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Amitabh Bachchan and Ranveer Singh. The list of female stars includes Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandez, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shraddha Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Kajol.

The survey has been conducted with a sample size of 3,300 in 29 cities across India. While the first two slots have been dominated by Salman and Deepika since the beginning of the year, popularity of other stars in the list has been varying every month.

Salman has been having a gala time at the box office since the success of Kick. The superstar has been giving back-to-back hits with Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan. On the other side, Deepika is also on cloud nine after the success of Piku and Bajirao Mastani. To add more to her popularity, the actress is all set to make her Hollywood debut with the film XXX: The Return of Xander Cage next year.
