Stocks of Mandhana Industries and Eros International witnessed a sell-off on Wednesday following the conviction of Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
As soon as the court pounced Salman guilty on all charges, share prices of Eros fell by over 5% while Mandhana's shares went down by around 2%.
Mandhana has an exclusive partnership with the actor's Being Human clothing brand. The company possesses the global licence to design, manufacture and distribute Being Human products.
The company is also has plans to increase the number of outlets that sell these products by 20 by the end of this year, The Economic Times reported.
On the other hand, Eros may turn out to be a big loser as the Mumbai sessions court convicts the actor under the charges of culpable homicide. Eros has acquired global distribution rights of Salman Khan's two upcoming movies "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Hero", due for release in 2015.
"Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is expected to be released in July 2015.
"The amount riding on these projects would be anywhere between Rs175 and Rs 200 crore," said Komal Nahta, a trade analyst.
