Salman Khan generally does not like attending movie premieres much, but made an exception for Sridevi's comeback movie "English Vinglish".
The actor, who is busy shooting for "Bigg Boss Season 6" at ND Studios in Karjat and action comedy "Dabangg 2" in Satara, has reportedly cancel both shoots to travel back to Mumbai just to attend the red carpet premiere of "English Vinglish" on Oct 4.
The film, which is set to hit the theatres on Oct 5 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions, marks the return of Sridevi to the silver screen after a gap of almost 14 years.
Salman is very close to Boney Kapoor and his family. They worked together in "No Entry" (2005) and "Wanted" (2009), both of which were among the biggest hit films in bollywood. The 45-year-old actor has also worked with Sridevi in two films - "Chandra Mukhi" (1993) and "Chaand Ka Tukda" (1993) - both of which didn't fare well at the box office. Salman haseven recently launched Boney Kapoor's son Arjun as an actor into the film industry.
When Boney Kapoor invited Salman to attend the premiere he said yes to it.
"Keeping in mind his close friendship with Boney, Salman has cancelled one day of the shooting of his film to attend the premiere. English Vinglish is very important to Boney Kapoor himself as it marks the return of his superstar wife Sridevi into Bollywood after a hiatus of 15 years. Salman knows this and he will do what it takes to make it special for them," Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying.
R Balki, producer of the film, also confirmed the news and said, "Boney Kapoor did invite Salman for the premiere and the good news is that he will be attending it."
The movie, directed by Gauri Shinde, is about a Maharashtrian housewife (played by Sridevi) who registers herself for English speaking classes in order to please her family.
