Salman Khan has been enjoying back-to-back box office hits but Ranbir Kapoor's last two movies bombed commercially, and yet director Anurag Basu said that he prefers to work with "risk taking" Ranbir than "boring" Salman.
Basu opined that Ranbir has been doing varied roles and is keen to take risks but Salman has been doing the same kind of roles.
"I am glad there is an actor like Ranbir who is taking the risk. There are not many actors, who would do it. He is not like Salman who is doing same thing film after film. He is boring. How can you do that?" PTI quoted the director as saying.
Basu, who is directing Ranbir in the movie "Jagga Jasoos", further said that the "Tamasha" actor may not have huge box office figures but he is satisfed as an actor.
"At least, he is experimenting with his craft, he is pushing the envelope and he is taking the risks. It is not paying off but at least he is getting the satisfaction of doing those films. He is playing different characters; they are so different from each other. Very few actors do that," Basu added.
Basu, who has worked with Ranbir in "Barfi", stressed that people in India blame the actor if a film flops but it is the director who is to be blamed.
While Salman is riding high with the success of "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo", Ranbir is currently busy with the promotions of "Tamasha", which is slated to release on 27 November.
